Christina Peters Fine Art wants everyone to be able to browse, enjoy, and buy artwork at christinapetersfineart.com, including people who use assistive technology such as screen readers, magnifiers, voice control, or keyboard-only navigation.
Our standard
We are working toward meeting the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more usable for people with disabilities. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, and we review the site as we add new artwork and features.
What we do
- Write descriptive alternative text for artwork images, describing the subject, colors, and mood of each photograph.
- Use clear headings, labels, and link text so pages are easy to navigate.
- Choose text and background colors with readable contrast.
- Make sure menus, product options, and the cart can be used with a keyboard.
- List sizes, materials, framing options, and prices in text, not only in images.
Known limitations
Some parts of the shopping experience are provided by third parties, including Shopify's checkout and payment providers. We choose reputable partners, but we don't control the accessibility of their tools. Fine art photography is a visual medium, so our written descriptions can't fully capture every detail of a piece.
